According to www.ritasice.com, the water ice, custard and "happiness" company has given away free water ice for nearly two deacades, and always on the first day of spring.
Today, Rita's stands will give away one, free Italian ice for every customer. There are two Rita's stands in Upper Moreland:

According to the website, last year, over 1.2 million cups of Italian Ice were given away in a 10-hour period.
