Local Police Warn Residents About Curb-Painting Scam
Upper Moreland Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a scam purporting to offer home address painting on curbs.

UPPER MORELAND, PA — Local police in this eastern Montgomery County community are asking residents to be on the lookout for what they're calling a scam involving curb painting.
Upper Moreland Township Police issued a warning Wednesday to residents about an advertisement that has been circulated around the community offering curb-painting services.
The paper ad was taped to mailboxes belonging to homes along Turner Road, Richard Road and Martin Road in the Huntingdon Valley section of the township.

Police said residents should familiarize themselves with the advertisement, and to "not fall victim to this potential scam!"
In the community alert, Upper Moreland Police noted that police in Warrington Township in neighboring Bucks County had previously issued a similar warning telling folks about the flyers.

"Although we encourage your house number to be prominently displayed, please do not give your business to these potential scammers," Warrington Police previously stated in their own alert. "These services are often used to distract homeowners as thefts are committed or subpar work is performed while homeowners are over-charged."
In Upper Moreland Township, police are urging residents to call 911 if they suspect someone is soliciting door-to-door without a proper permit.
Solicitors with valid permits are given a list of residents on the "Do Not Solicit" list in Upper Moreland, according to the township.
