Local Sites for For Summer Free and Reduced Lunch

In Pennsylvania, approximately 702,000 children are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program during the school year, according to a press release.

However, nearly 85 percent of those children do not take advantage of the program during the summer months.

The Summer Food Service Program is "a federal nutrition program jointly run by the US Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania Department of Education" and has hundreds of site across the state.

The local sites for the Summer Food Service Program are:

• Jardel Recreation Center, 1400 Cottman St., Jenkintown
• Boyle Recreation Center, 13049 Kelvin St., Philadelphia
• Gifford Playground, 575 Tomlinson Rd., Philadelphia
• Lackman Playground Day Camp, 1101 Bartlett Street, Philadelphia
• WIC Northeast Office, 8570 Bustleton Ave., Philadelphia
