Man Accused of Prostitution Has Assault Charge Dropped
A Willow Grove man facing prostitution charges stemming from an alleged incident at the Walmart store in Willow Grove had an indecent assault charged dropped during a stipulation hearing.

A 38-year-old Willow Grove man facing prostitution charges for allegedly offering a woman $200 to perform oral sex in the Walmart parking lot stipulated to the information contained in the criminal complaint.
Mark Dillard Curry, of the 1700 block of Coolidge Avenue in Willow Grove, was arrested in May and charged with two counts of prostitution, as well as one count of false imprisonment and indecent assault for allegedly soliciting sex from a woman while parked in the rear lot of the Willow Grove Walmart, 2101 Blair Mill Road, according to court documents.
During a stipulated hearing Wednesday morning in District Judge Paul Leo’s court, the indecent assault charge was withdrawn. A stipulated hearing means the defendant does not question the information in the criminal complaint, according to Leo.
According to court records, on May 30 at 7:52 p.m., Curry offered a woman who was “pan-handling” at Walmart a job opportunity in his company. Curry and the woman exchanged phone numbers, according to documents.

Less than an hour later, Curry withdrew $20 from the nearby Bank of America in the Horsham Gate Shopping Center. Two minutes later, Curry called the woman, according to documents, and the two met in front of Sam’s Club in the Willow Point Shopping Center.
Curry allegedly handed the woman a $20 bill and opened the door of his 2014 Kia Sorento and pulled her inside. At that point, the woman said she was “not alarmed,” according to court records, because Curry wanted to speak to her about a job opportunity.

While parked, Curry allegedly grabbed the woman’s hand and placed it on his crotch area and offered her $200 to perform oral sex. When the woman said no and tried to get out of the car, Curry allegedly grabbed her arm and “pulled her back into the vehicle.”
The woman was able to free herself and exited the vehicle, according to court records.
The woman and her boyfriend decided to report Curry to police and “attempt to set him up,” according to records.
She texted Curry the following morning, according to court records, and told him she “changed her mind” and wanted to meet to have sex with him. The two agreed to meet at Walmart where Curry would pay her $100 for “sexual favors.”
When Curry arrived at the Walmart at 3:24 a.m. on May 31, after withdrawing $100 from a Bank of America account, he met with the woman, who was accompanied by a police escort, according to court records.
According to court documents, Curry, who has arrests dating back to 1993, was convicted of harassment, making terroristic threats and stalking with the "intent to cause emotional distress" in 1998.Later that year, he was convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to three to 10 years in prison; and making terroristic threats and ordered to serve a minimum of five years for that offense.
In 2011, he entered a guilty plea for theft by unlawful taking and was ordered to serve a 12-month minimum sentence.
Curry’s arraignment in Montgomery County Court is set for Aug. 28.
