New Long-Term Sub Culinary Arts Aide Starts Sept. 1 At Eastern Center for Arts & Tech
Eastern Center for Arts & Technology has named Cheryl Steacker, former food event host, as the new culinary arts long-term substitute aide.

WILLOW GROVE, PA — The Eastern Center for Arts and Technology has a new long-term substitute culinary arts aide.
The educational institution named Cheryl Steacker to the position effective Sept. 1.
Steacher, in her new role, will be assisting Eastern culinary arts instructors with program instruction and will also provide hands-on instruction to students in the center’s culinary arts program.

“Culinary is such an exciting field and a useful skill to develop and refine,” Steacker said in a statement. “I am looking forward to assisting the EASTERN Chefs in preparing the Culinary Arts students for successful careers and equipping them with life-long skills.”
Before coming to the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology, Steacker worked in Philadelphia as a food event host, on-air demonstrator and culinary content creator, where she worked alongside some top appliance brands, according to Eastern.

Steacker also has vast pastry experience, having served as a pastry chef and social media manager for various bakeries in both Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs.
Steacker previously attended Penn State’s Abington campus before she went on to pursue a career in the culinary arts, according to a professional bio provided by Eastern. She ultimately obtained her ServSafe certification, which is a certification program through the National Restaurant Association that educates food-service providers on best food safety practices.
According to the school, students participating in Eastern’s culinary arts program have the opportunity to earn up to nine transferable college credits through a statewide articulation agreement with Montgomery County Community College.
The two-year, half-day programs gives culinary students the opportunity to learn skills related to meal preparation, including the categories of soup and sauce, meat/poultry and fish, entrées, baking, kitchen sanitation, as well as purchasing and inventory controls.

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology serves students who are in public school districts in the Montgomery County communities of Abington, Bryn Athyn, Cheltenham, Hatboro-Horsham, Jenkintown, Lower Moreland, Springfield, Upper Dublin and Upper Moreland. Its campus is in Willow Grove .
