Open Dance Rehearsal Shows DAC has the Right Moves

The (DAC), located in the former site of the Round Meadow Elementary School in Upper Moreland, held an event on March 4.

The event was held to help raise funds for the dance school’s 25-member dance competition team.

The event featured home-made baked goods, raffle baskets and other DAC-related items. However, the main attraction were the dance routines of competition team.

From 2 – 3:45 p.m., dance competition team members showcased previews of their dance performances, which they will take with them during regional competitions in the coming weeks.

Performing simultaneously in two of the DAC dance studios, the competition team members, who ranged from ages 7 – 18, performed various dance forms, including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, hip-hop and musical theater.  

According to DAC co-owner Helen Flack, there were approximately 100 parents, friends and DAC supporters who attended the open rehearsal event.

“This was a successful event,” Helen Flack, said. “I would imagine this would be a bigger event next year.”
