Liquor Laws

  • On March 18, at 9:14 p.m., police observed a vehicle on Fitzwatertown Road with a suspended and expired registration. The operator, Krista Labenz, 18, from the 1800 Block of Osbourne Ave. in Willow Grove, was cited for traffic violations. In addition her passenger, who was 21, had an alcoholic beverage on his person. Labenz was also cited for transportation of an alcoholic beverage under the age of 21.
  • On March 18, at 10:14 p.m., an officer responded to the playground behind the Upper Moreland Primary school for a report of underage drinkers. The officer located the subjects with alcoholic beverages on them. All will be recommended to the Youth Aid Panel (YAP). One 17 yr old male will be cited for underage consumption for prior contacts. All were released to their parents.
  • On March 18, at 11:55 p.m., officers responded to North Crossing Apartments, 3625 Welsh Road, concerning two brothers arguing and one brother was intoxicated. The intoxicated brother, Ronald Campbell, 59, from the 3600 Block of Welsh Road in Willow Grove, was argumentative and resisted arrest. Campbell was eventually placed under arrest. His Blood Alcohol Content was a 0.26 percent. Campbell was cited for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct and released when sober.
  • On March 19, at 9:52 p.m., an officer responded to the Bus enclosures at Moreland Road and Fitzwatertown Road for a reported medical emergency. On arrival, police immediately observed joseph Cray, 57, from the unit Block of Fitzwatertown Road in Willow Grove, to be highly intoxicated. Cray began to scream and resist arrest. Cray was placed under arrest with a BAC of 0.22 percent. While Cray was lodged in the cell to sober up, it was discovered he was on probation. A detainer was faxed down by Adult probation and Cray was later transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Cray was cited for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct.

Criminal Mischief

  • From March 19 - 20, sometime overnight unknown actors shot approximately ten paint balls at the side of a residence on the 100 block of Lawnton Rd. The homeowner was able to wash the paint off his home.

Retail Theft

  • On March 20, at 11:25 a.m., police were dispatched to the Giant Food Store, 315 York Rd, for a female subject in custody for retail theft. Caitlin Pellechio, 23, from the 1700 Block of Summit Ave., was known by security to steal from Giant before. Security followed Pellechio throughout the store and observed her place a number of groceries into her cart and attempted to walk out the door without paying for the items. Pellechio was stopped in the parking lot. Pellechio attempted to steal $190.06 worth of various food items. Pellechio has three prior convictions for retail theft and an outstanding warrant from Norristown PD for retail theft. Pellechio was arraigned with bail set at $5000.00/10 percent. Pellechio was sent up to the County Prison. Pellechio was charged with Retail Theft.

DUI

  • On March 20, at 3:56 a.m., police stopped Crystal Napolitano, 28, from the 500 Block of Dreshertown Road in Dresher, on Welsh Road after observing her weaving between the curb lane and center lance several times. Napolitano was administered a breath test at the police station with a result of 0.11 percent. Napolitano was charged with DUI and later released to a friend.
