Road Work on 611, Commissioners Seek Veteran’s Memorial Park Funding

Expect delays when traveling on Route 611 in Upper Moreland this week as construction crews will be working in the area where the Pennsylvania Turnpike crosses Easton Road. Crews will periodically reduce traffic to a single-lane in either direction from Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The township’s public works department will pave Margo Lane and Geoffrey Road on Tuesday, weather permitting. Residents are advised to have all cars and portable basketball nets removed from the street before 6:30 a.m. Cars parked on the street are subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Work can begin as early as 6:30 a.m. and is expected to conclude by 4 p.m.

The Upper Moreland Commissioners will consider several grant applications, including a $188,000 grant request from the state to help cover phase two of the Veteran’s Memorial Park steambank enhancement during Monday's commissioners meeting. The governing body meets at 7 p.m. at 117 Park Ave., in Willow Grove.
