Township Provides Warnings Against Use of Floodwater
The remaining floodwater may prove to be a health hazard for recreational activities and well-water use.

As a result of the ongoing flood event from Hurricane Irene, the Montgomery County Health Department (MCHD) recommends that all residents of Montgomery County avoid recreational contact with flood waters due to the unknown amount of raw sewage and waste chemicals that may be present.
Also, wells inundated by floodwater may be contaminated and should not be used until tested. The township advises that MCHD’s public health laboratory continues to offer free water testing for bacteria.
