Upper Moreland Gets $225K To Improve Woodlawn Park

Woodlawn Park will see significant improvements thanks to new funding from the county.

UPPER MORELAND, PA — Upper Moreland Township has received a major grant to improve Woodlawn Park.

The $225,000 in funding, through the Montco 2040 program, will help build out one of the township's many green gems.

"This project helps implement the recently adopted Woodlawn Park Master Plan and will assist with extensive native plantings, stormwater management, benches, trash receptacles, and a USGS historic marker and plaza as the township prepares to redevelop this park," the county said.

2024 marks the ninth year of grant funding through the Montco 2040 program, which aims to help create connections between communities, improve local economies, and promote sustainable

Specifically, projects were evaluated for their "impact, equity, readiness, and consistency" with local and county planners. Projects that improved walkability or bikeability in the region were also given added consideration.

A total of 140 grants worth $17.8 million have been awarded since the program was originally launched.
