Upper Moreland's Power Line Trail Gets $2.4 Million In Funding
Connections to Montgomery and Upper Gwynedd townships, and the Pennypack and Cross County Trails, are in the near future.
UPPER MORELAND, PA — Upper Moreland Township will receive $2.4 million in special funding to help develop the Power Line Trail, a major development for Montgomery County's larger trail network.
The funding comes from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC)’s Regional Technical Committee, which pumped $5.26 million overall into the greater Philadelphia area's Circuit Trails project.
The 5.2 mile Power Line Trail connects several schools, communities, and business centers and will eventually extend into Montgomery and Upper Gwynedd townships to the west. Specific timelines for construction remain unclear, but connections with the Route 202 Parkway Trail, the Pennypack Trail, and the Cross County Trail are planned in the near future.
