Why Mixed-Use Works for Town Center in Willow Grove
Presented by Commissioner Lisa Romaniello and guest speakers on October 16, Tuesday, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Please join me for a short presentation on “Why mixed-use development works for the town center of Willow Grove.” What does mixed-use development look like? What types of revenue can be generated off this type of land use? What are the economic benefits to our community? What is Town Center zoning?
Visual examples will be shown (for the first time to the public) of a vision plan that was designed specifically for the town center of Willow Grove which includes the Bally’s Fitness property. This concept embodies the spirit and intent of Upper Moreland’s current Town Center zoning ordinance.
Many years have been spent on community planning and building public consensus concerning the future town center for Willow Grove. In 2007, local officials replaced outdated zoning with the most progressive, new zoning laws (Town Center Zoning). These new laws were adopted to help the community achieve their vision of a safe, liveable, walkable town center. The laws also provide the development community with the proper tools to build and help the township reverse a trend of poor planning. Economic goals, transportation enhancements, housing and the environment will be touched on.
