Willow Grove 300 Committee Helps Bring Historic Quilts to UM Library

The Willow Grove 300 Committee donated over $3,000 for new mounts to hang the donated hand-sewn historical quilts, depicting the Willow Grove area, at the Upper Moreland Free Public Library.

Dick Sayer, Karen Houck and Richard Booth presented a check for $3,320 to Margie Peters, director of the .

Thanks to the generosity of the , two hand-made quilts depicting eastern Montgomery County historic homes and area maps will be properly mounted and permanently displayed in the Community Room at the library.  The quilts were donated to the library by long-time Upper Moreland Township resident, .

The quilts will be installed by the end of December.

Everyone will be welcomed to stop by the library to view this truly unique and valuable historic display during the regular hours of the library: Monday-Thursday 10-5, Friday-Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 1-5.

The Upper Moreland Free Public Library is located at 109 Park Avenue, Willow Grove, across from the Willow Grove Shopping Center.
