
What is it?
The High School Preparatory Program provides an engaging and useful introduction to the high school for incoming freshmen. It gives new Spartans the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the school, and participate in some mini courses that are designed to prepare students for the freshman curriculum. The activities in this preparatory program will not only focus on the academic transition into the high school curriculum, but also provide opportunities to familiarize students with school routines.
The activities designed to jumpstart students’ transition into the high school environment include:

- Two current faculty members as program coordinators
- Concentration on developing study skills and time management skills
- Continuing to build problem solving skills
- Introducing the students to the school layout and bell schedule
- Introducing students to school services such as the Teen Counselors and the Student Assistance Program
- Guest speakers from the guidance office and administration
Other activities will include:
- Time for students to find and test their lockers
- Familiarizing new students with school rules and procedures
- Introduction to the technology the HS has to offer

August 8th – August 10th
Wednesday - Friday
8:30 am – 11:30 am
Where is it?
The program will be held at the high/middle school campus. The first day will begin with the students in a brief assembly in the middle school auditorium. All other days and activities will be held in various classrooms at the high school.
How do I apply?
Interested students should mail the payment and attached registration form to the high school or bring the form and payment to the high school. Instructions are included on the registration form.
What is the cost?
The fee is only $45 per student to help defray the cost of the program. The session will be limited to the first 30 students that apply; the session must have a minimum of 12 students to run.

All applications and payment must be received by July 27 for the August Session. Application and payment should be mailed to:
