Flood Advisory Issued for Southern Lehigh/Lehigh County

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday due to heavy rains.

The advisory is for Lehigh and Northampton counties and Berks, Monroe and Carbon counties as well.

The advisory is for small streams.

Doppler Radar has indicated showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall extending from Berks to Northampton counties, the National Weather Service states.

The showers are expected to bring possibly up to two inches of rain in some parts.

The National Weather Service advises motorists not to drive their vehicles into areas where water covers the roadway and to move to higher ground where possible.
