Southern Lehigh Board of Education Budget and Finance Committee Sets the Agenda, Presents New Proposal Documents
In the wake of Governor Corbett's decision to freeze the state budget, the board sets the agenda for the March 12 seminar.

The committee discussed new information, such as a potential shift of federal funds, known as Edujobs, anticipated for the 2011-12 school year to the current school year."This money was to take the place of the ARRA [American Recovery and Reinvestment Act] funds we were receiving, which have now run their course," said superintendent Joe Liberati.
The Edujobs funds, which are a one-year grant providing startup money for 160,000 education jobs throughout the country, may be released early to cover the state funds schools had already budgeted for. At the meeting, Edujobs was not without it's critics. "If the money only for one year of teacher's salaries, what are supposed to do then?" said board president Mike Eddinger.
