Brush Fire Burns On Second Street Pike

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Fire crews battled a brush fire on Second Street Pike as one of several calls over the weekend.

The Southampton Fire Company said Station 2 responded Sunday afternoon to the brush fire below Klinger Middle School on the 1440 block of Second Street Pike in Southampton.

Fire crews found a brush fire advancing in the woods.

Due to limited access, the fire company stretched 600 feet of hose to reach the fire.

Field trucks and tankers from the Northampton Township Fire Department, Lingohocken Fire Company, and Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1 assisted in fighting the fire.

Crews operated for over an hour with extensive cleanup afterward.

The Warminster Fire Department covered and took a call during the brush fire.

The Southampton Fire Company also handled an auto extrication on the Pennsylvania Turnpike after a four-vehicle accident and assisted with patient removal and hazard control.

The fire company also assisted the Upper Moreland Fire Department in a vehicle fire on the turnpike. Engine 2 assisted with extinguishment and runoff control for about an hour.
