Bucks Co. 'Tooth Fairy' Brings Whimsy, Health Education To Kids
Project Tooth Fairy, which launched in February, lets kids engage with the "Tooth Fairy" and receive special packs of dental swag.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — There's a new Tooth Fairy in town, in the form of oral health care packages from a local clinic.
HealthLink Dental Clinic partnered with A Woman's Place and Tabor Children's Services to provide care packages from the Tooth Fairy to the children that each of the organizations serve.
The packages are designed to teach children about good oral health habits and include a personalized letter and signed photo from the Tooth Fairy, a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, a few small trinkets, and oral health activity sheets. They're designed to make losing a tooth or getting a reminder to brush and floss a bit more magical, according to a news release.

“While HealthLink does not provide dental services to children, oral health education to all members of our community is a very important part of our mission,” said Executive Director Raquel Braemer. “We know that individuals who develop good oral health habits during their childhood are much more likely to continue those habits into adulthood, which can help to prevent many serious dental issues. HealthLink is thrilled to partner with local organizations to help build these good oral health habits and spread a little fairy dust and joy to children in our community.”
HealthLink’s Tooth Fairy care packages are part of a larger community and family-based education program that the organization launched in February, called Project Tooth Fairy.

The program offers fun ways to engage families and children in learning the importance of good oral health, such as virtual story times with the Tooth Fairy herself and the opportunity to purchase Tooth Fairy Fan Club packs for children who have recently lost a tooth, had a good visit at the dentist, are nervous about an upcoming visit at the dentist, or just need to remember to brush and floss.
All Tooth Fairy care packages provided to children in need through partnerships with local organizations are provided free of charge, thanks to individual donations to Project Tooth Fairy.
“Access to competent care should not be determined by your socio-economic status," Monique Gaillard, director of Public Relations & Development for Tabor, a nonprofit family services organization, said. "This partnership provides Tabor families access to family-centered oral health education and creates awareness around an organization that provides culturally competent, cost-effective quality dental care.
