Snow Emergency Declared In Upper Southampton Due To Storm
Upper Southampton Township officials said the emergency declaration for Tuesday's snowfall remains in effect until Wednesday morning.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The township has issued a Declaration of Disaster Emergency due to Tuesday's storm.
Township Emergency Management Coordinator Michael T. Italia said that the declaration remains in effect through 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The township seeks the community's help in removing all cars and vehicles from the roadway, so snow plowing operations are not delayed.

The National Weather Service of Philadelphia/Mount Holly said that accumulating snow is spreading slowly southeastward across the region presently and should reach the Philadelphia region during the morning rush hour.
The weather service said that snow should end near midday with a much nicer afternoon.

The emergency declaration was issued in order for the township to "facilitate the movement of traffic and to combat the hazards of snow and ice" on all township streets.
A township ordinance states that it is unlawful to park or allow to be parked, any motor vehicle on any road or street within the township when an emergency has been declared by the township manager.
Ordinance No. 441 said that no person removing snow or ice from public sidewalks or private property shall throw, shovel, push, plow, or otherwise move snow or ice into the public street.
