Southampton Man Charged With Child Pornography Possession

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A 59-year-old Southampton man has been charged with child pornography possession, police said.

John Heaton IV, 59, of Southampton, was arrested and charged with crimes related to the possession of child sexual abuse material, the Upper Southampton Township Police Department said.

Heaton was released on bail pending future court appearances.

On Oct. 10, Upper Southampton Police, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations initiated an investigation of a CyberTip submitted to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

The CyberTip indicated that an IP address in Upper Southampton Township shared files containing child sexual abuse material over the internet.

A thorough investigation of the CyberTip resulted in a search warrant at a residence in the area of Shallcross Avenue.

Investigators seized numerous pieces of computer and telecommunications equipment related to the crime, police said.
