How do you know the star local student?

Parent

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

I have watched my daughter overcome a life-threatening health issue as a child only to be attacked by a boy during her freshman year of high school. She fought very hard to overcome the PTSD that came along with it. Finally, two years later and switching schools, she is now an honor student and a state and nationally award-winning cheerleader. In today's world, it is so easy for our young adults to give up and use stressful situations as an excuse to not excel. I am so proud of the strength my daughter has shown and serves as an excellent example for other teens experiencing bullying.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is strong and a survivor.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Alyah!
