UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Fourteen mutual aid companies battled an attic fire in a home on Street Road for five hours, fire officials said.

The Southampton Fire Company and response crews from Bucks and Montgomery counties fought the fire on the 1400 block of Street Road at 9:22 a.m. Thursday.

Bystanders were able to get the homeowner out before fire crews arrived, officials said.

Fire crews used a deck gun at the front of the building and tried to fight the fire inside the home. But fire crews then evacuated the home and fought the fire outside.

Fire companies were on the scene for about five hours conducting an overhaul of the home and mop-up operations.
