Father Charged After 3-Month-Old Dies Inside Minivan: Allegheny Co. Police

A father turned himself in to authorities in connection with his three-month-old's death after the infant was left in his minivan June 16.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA — A Peters man turned himself in to authorities in connection with his three-month-old's death after the infant was left in his minivan in June, Allegheny County Police said.

Someone called 911 to report an unresponsive infant inside a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Fort Couch Road in Upper St. Clair on June 16, police said.

First responders found Kayden Nguyen in the minivan around 6 p.m. that evening. Medical crews started CPR but could not revive the baby, police said. Read more: Infant Identified Who Died In Hot Car In Upper St. Clair: Reports

Kayden's father, 33-year-old Khang Nguyen of Peters, turned himself in on Thursday morning after police got a warrant for his arrest.

Officials charged Nguyen with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children, and recklessly endangering another person, police said.
