Greensburg Pike Bridge to Open to Traffic Today, November 14

The Greensburg Pike Bridge between Turtle Creek Borough and North Versailles Township will open today at noon.

The Allegheny County Department of Public Works today announced today that the Greensburg Pike Bridge will open to traffic beginning at noon. The old bridge was closed in November of 2013 to begin work on its replacement. It connects traffic between Turtle Creek Borough and North Versailles Township.

The $20.5 million Greensburg Pike Bridge Replacement Project included construction of a new four-span, 663-foot steel girder bridge just downstream of the existing bridge, the moving of utilities, tying existing roadways into the new bridge, and demolishing the old seven-span steel truss structure. The project is being done in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration. The work was done in conjunction with the PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and is being performed by Brayman Construction.
