Route 19, Connor/Gilkeson Improvements Continue This Weekend
Work is planned through 6 a.m. on Monday.

Work to improve Washington Road (Route 19/3069) and Connor/Gilkeson roads (Route 3038) in Mt. Lebanon will continue this weekend, Sept. 13-16, weather permitting, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0.
Crews will be milling and paving Washington from Connor/Gilkeson to Mt. Lebanon Boulevard. Additionally, paving will occur on Connor/Gilkeson from East Terrace/Sunridge Drive to approximately Old Gilkeson Road. Work will occur from Friday, Sept. 13, at 6 p.m. to Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 a.m.
To allow the work to occur, crossovers will be necessary from Friday at 7 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m. and from Saturday at 7 p.m. to Sunday at 8 a.m. Additionally, single-lane traffic will occur as needed throughout the weekend.
Motorists are advised to use caution and be aware of changing traffic patterns when traveling through the work area. Expect delays and allow extra time.
PennDOT officials remind motorists to use all open lanes to merge points.
This work is part of a $5.56-million project that includes milling and resurfacing, guiderail, minor drainage, curbs, pavement markings, signing, traffic signals, median removal, ADA ramps and other improvements on 2.55 miles of Washington Road from Connor/Gilkeson to Alfred Street. As part of this project, work and improvements will also occur on Gilkeson and Connor roads in the area of the Washington Road intersection. Overall work will conclude in early 2014.
The prime contractor is Lindy Paving.
