Shooting Scare At Pittsburgh Mall: Police Find No Gunman

Police did a thorough inspection of a Pittsburgh mall Wednesday after reports of an active shooter at the shopping complex.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA — Several South Hills Village stores reportedly went into lockdown on Wednesday after reports of a shooter at the mall, but said those initial reports were false.

"The reports circulating about an active shooter at South Hills Village Mall are unfounded," the Bethel Park Police Department stated on its Facebook page. "No direct eyewitness has come forward and no description was ever given. Officers have checked the mall extensively."

Several police departments responded to concerns about a possible shooter.
