Upper St. Clair Restaurant Suddenly Closes
A Pittsburgh eatery has announced it is shutting down. Patch provides the details.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The restaurant at Maggie's Farm Distillery in Upper St. Clair has closed, though the space will remain available for event rentals.
Operations at Maggie's Smallman Street Barrelhouse for retail and cocktail service at that bar remain unchanged.
"Running a restaurant is hard at the best of times, but between the recent economic uncertainty and rise in food costs, we have had to take a hard look at what we want for the future of Maggie’s Farm Rum," Tim Russell, the president of Allegheny Distilling, which owns Maggie's, stated in a social media post.

"After many sleepless nights, we have made this difficult decision. Owning a business means having to choose what is best for the company as a whole and those involved with it. This change will allow us to refocus our efforts on what we do best – distilling the best rum and spirits that we can.
"We hope this refocus will assist in maintaining the upward growth trajectory of our products at the wholesale and retail levels.

"The Upper St. Clair location will continue to serve as our main production facility with tastings, tours, and bottle sales still available. There will be no changes to the Smallman Street location at this time."
