Upper St. Clair School District Caps Any Potential 2023-24 Tax Hike
As planning begins for the 2023-24 budget, school directors have set a maximum level at which taxes could increase.
UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA — Upper St. Clair school directors have approved a resolution limiting any
possible 2023-24 tax increase to within the inflationary index determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Upper St. Clair’s current millage rate is 28.5628 mills. The resolution's passage ensures that
any proposed real estate tax rate hike will not exceed 4.7 percent or 1.3424 mills.
with a vote by the school board in June.”
Rozzo noted that the 4.7 percent potential increase is the highest base since the Act 1 index was established. The 2006 law sets the upper limit for school district property tax increases; the index is calculated annually and reported to school districts by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
