2 Incumbents Ousted On Centennial School Board

WARMINSTER / UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIPS, PA — Two of the three incumbent Republican candidates were ousted from the Centennial School Board in Tuesday's general election, according to unofficial results.

School Board President Mary Alice Brancato and School Director Mark Gindhart lost their re-election bids while incumbent School Directors Jane Lynch and Flemming Godiksen retained their seats.

The Centennial School Board race has focused on debate over the school board's controversial 5-4 vote to hire former Central Bucks Schools Superintendent Abram Lucabaugh, who was given a $700,000 severance package. The decision caused public outcry among many residents.

Democratic newcomers Karen Krieger and Krista DiPaolo were elected by residents while Elizabeth Montalvo did not win her bid.

Results in Tuesday's general election by the Bucks County Board of Elections are unofficial until they are certified at a later date.

  • Flemming Godiksen (Republican) — 2,936 votes
  • Elizabeth Montalvo (Democrat) — 2,800 votes

Region 2 (Vote For 1)

  • Krista DiPaolo (Democrat) — 3,953 votes
  • Mark Gindhart (Republican) — 2,685 votes

Region 3 (Vote For 2)

  • Karen M.S. Krieger (Democrat) — 3,021 votes
  • Jane Schrader Lynch (Republican/Democrat) — 2,977 votes
  • Mark Werner (Republican) — 2,565 votes
  • Mary Alice Brancato (Republican) — 2,502 votes
