Brad Fox Family to Marshal Memorial Day Parade

The family of the fallen officer have been named grand marshals for Warminster's annual Memorial Day parade.

Memorial Day is a time to commemorate those who have fallen in service to the United States.

The official celebration of these heroes began in the 1860s after the Civil War, when wreaths were laid on the graves of both Union and Confederate soldiers. The practice was fully recognized throughout the existing states by 1890.

So, what is the best way to honor the holiday?

The parade begins at the township administration building on Gibson Street, marches east on Henry Avenue, turns north on York Road, then East on Street Road, and finally north on Louis Drive, ending at the VFW.

Groups expected to march on Monday include the William Tennent High School Band, MacGregor Pipe Band, South Philadelphia String Band, 104th PA Volunteer Infantry Company C, emergency service vehicles and the Delaware Valley Corvette Club, plus much more.

Remember, should you decide to hang a flag on Memorial Day, it should never touch the ground and it should be flown at half-mast until noon.
