Centennial Schools Superintendent Search Progressing

WARMINSTER, PA —The search for the next Centennial schools superintendent is progressing.

Centennial School Board President Mary Alice Brancato recently told Patch that applications are coming in, with interviews being planned in the next few weeks to find a replacement for Schools Superintendent Dana T. Bedden, whose contract expires at the end of June.

"We are going to go hard on interviews and meet two or three times and interview the candidates confidentially until the end," Brancato said.

She said the school board hopes to choose a new schools superintendent by the middle or end of May, but might have to wait for an announcement until June 31 so that person can complete their responsibilities with their current school district.

For Brancato, she has an ideal schools superintendent candidate in mind in terms of criteria.

I need someone who is more community-oriented," she said. "I need someone who is more hands-on, interacts with kids, is smart, and is multi-faceted."

The Bucks County Intermediate Unit has been retained to conduct the search for the school district.

As an experienced facilitator of superintendent search services, the Bucks IU does not charge a fee for this service for school districts located in Bucks County, although the Bucks IU will be reimbursed by the district for any out-of-pocket advertising or other costs associated with the position posting.

A community forum to introduce the new superintendent will be arranged and announced once the final selection is completed.
