Eagles Fans Fired Up For Super Bowl Sunday

Across the Delaware Valley this week, fans revved up for Super Bowl LVII and the Birds battling the Kansas City Chiefs.

WARMINSTER, PA —Are You Ready For Some Super Bowl?

Throughout the Delaware Valley this week and Friday, Philadelphia Eagles fans got fired up for Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday night.

As a school bus drove by in Horsham Township, students chanted the Eagles fight song to get neighborhoods ready for the big game.

Schools across the region held pep rallies, sang songs supporting the team or wore everything and anything green.

On social media Friday, everyone seemed to have some post rooting for the Birds to beat the Chiefs and former coach Andy Reid and send the City of Brotherly Love into celebration mode.

Businesses were booming as well, from"Bleed Green Vodka" by the Yardley Distillery to a Phoenixville brewer of Kombucha, who brought back an Eagles-inspired green flavor for fans to celebrate Super Bowl LVII.

Wawa and Dunkin' Donuts are offering Eagles fans free coffee over the weekend as well. Dunkin is offering free coffee on Saturday and Sunday and Wawa is on Sunday.

The Thompson Dealerships in Doylestown turned green for the home team this week.

On Tuesday, Thompson Detail Center MVPs covered more than 500 lights in green filament to show their support for the Eagles.

The green glow could be seen at Thompson BMW, Thompson Lexus and Thompson Toyota, Routes 313 and 611 in Doylestown, and at Thompson Lexus Willow Grove, Route 611 at the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The Levittown pretzel baker who is tied into Gov. Josh Shapiro's Super Bowl bet with the governors of Kansas City and Missouri told Patch Friday that he's confident he won't have to fill that order.

"I'm very confident in the boys this year," said Jim Rossi, co-owner of Philly Style Hand Twisted Soft Pretzel Bakery in Levittown. "They're going to win. Absolutely."

The Horsham Township Municipal Building was lit up in green at night as well.

Meanwhile, neighboring Hatboro prepared its York Road Business District to be bombarded by fans ready to pour out into the streets Sunday night and celebrate a Super Bowl championship.

Eagles fever also took over at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology as students and staff gathered Friday in green and silver team gear to shout "Fly Eagles Fly.

"The energy was electric as everyone came together to show their support for their favorite team," the school said.

Speaking of schools, the Bensalem High School music department, band, orchestra, and chorus put a video together cheering on the Birds. See video here.

A Horsham Township resident sent in a video posted on the township's Facebook page about Simmons Elementary School students hyping up neighborhoods with an Eagles chant on their way to school.


Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub got into the act too Friday afternoon.

Wearing an Eagles jersey, Weintraub stressed the importance of watching the Super Bowl and celebrating safely.

But the best message may have come from Reggie.

The eagle at the Elwood Park Zoo has set the tone for Sunday's game, making short work of a Chiefs football. Watch video below.
