Where has the time passed? How has it been a half-decade since now folk hero Nick Foles pulled off the impossible by beating the GOAT, Tom Brady, who just retired last week hopefully once and for all.

The season was one of disbelief as quarterback Carson Wentz went down late in the regular season and Foles came off the bench to lead the Birds to a playoff victory against the Atlanta Falcons in the final play of the game.

Then it was total domination of the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship.

Suddenly, the Birds were facing the Patriots, who they lost to at the hands of Brady and Coach Bill Belichick in 2005. That game sickened us more than quarterback Donovan McNabb, who was allegedly throwing up at the end of it.

How could Foles beat Brady? How could Coach Doug Pederson beat Belichick?

"You want Philly, Philly?" Foles asked Pederson on a 4th down attempt near the end zone as the end of the first half was about to expire. It was a ballsy call.

And the "Philly Special" was born, the magical play in which Foles pretended to kill his call and run behind tackle Lane Johnson.

Running back Corey Clement took the direct snap and pitched it to tight end Trey Burton, who tossed a pass in the right corner of the end zone to Foles, who had slipped away unnoticed.

The game went back and forth with Eagles touchdowns by Clement and tight end Zach Ertz reviewed leading to debate about whether they should have been overturned.

The Eagles thought they had sealed the deal when Brandon Graham caused a strip sack of Brady that led to a field goal with a minute to go.

The Birds had an eight-point lead but Brady almost pulled off a miracle as his Hail Mary almost landed in the hands of tight end Rob Gronkowski.

We were amazed it didn't. And we were even more amazed that the game was over.

All of us sat for a few seconds in disbelief before all of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley burst into a celebration that the likes have never seen in these parts. The Super Bowl parade that followed in Philadelphia was just as magical.

Do you remember the feeling?
