Candidate Questions

1. The public was against the hiring of the new schools superintendent. What is your stance on that?

The total interview process lacked transparency. Members of the Board were not permitted to ask any questions of their own of the finalist candidate. The Town Hall meeting for the public to meet the finalist and question him was not permitted. The press outside the meeting received the same treatment — No Questions. Due to headlines, along with a six-figure severance package, the community wanted their questions answered. The finalist was hired by the majority of five school board members to four members voting No. I voted No.

2. What educational background do you bring to the position?

I bring to the school board dedication, experience, and knowledge. I have lived in Warminster for over 50 plus years. I was elected to the Board of Supervisors, served 18 years on the Zoning Board, and 17 years on the Parks & Recreation Board. I'm a founding member of Warminster Soccer Club, and William Tennent High School soccer and golf boosters. Serving our community, I learned to listen along with developing new ideas.

3. What are the biggest challenges to the school district in the future?

CSD Budgets must be balanced: Meaning income and expenditures should be equal. No taking monies from reserves to balance. In the last two years, more money was spent than received by millions of dollars. This practice cannot continue: Raising real estate taxes on residents along with borrowing from set-aside funding. Hard choices must be considered, and school board members must look at all situations with a review from the public.
