Gov. Shapiro Attack 'Condemned' By Bucks Co. DA
Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn and legislators called Saturday's arson at the Governor's Mansion "shocking and concerning."
LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County District Attorney's Office and local legislators are reacting to the arson at the Governor's Mansion in Harrisburg on Saturday, saying they are grateful that the family of Gov. Josh Shapiro was not harmed.
"This incident is shocking and concerning," said State Rep. Brian Munroe, who represents Warminster, Warrington, and other Bucks County communities.
Shapiro, who is Jewish, had just celebrated a seder for Passover, which kicked off at sundown on Saturday.

The Bucks County Human Relations Council issued a statement, saying it was "distressed" to learn of the arson attack, coming right after the governor's Passover celebration. The organization thanked first responders for keeping Gov. Shapiro and his family safe.
A suspect is in custody for lighting two devices, empty beer bottles filled with gas, that were thrown into two windows of the mansion while the family was sleeping.

"The Bucks County District Attorney's Office vehemently condemns the increasing violence and threats directed at politicians and motivated by political stances," District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said. "These reprehensible acts endanger individuals and their families while undermining fundamental principles of our democracy."
Schorn said she and her office were grateful that Gov. Shapiro and his family were unharmed.
"We vehemently condemn these attacks, and our commitment to the safety and security of the community and all those who dedicate themselves to public service is unwavering," Schorn said.
