Hostage Rescued By Warminster Police
The woman was stabbed after being held at knifepoint by her boyfriend during a domestic fight, according to police.
WARMINSTER, PA — Police in Warminster rescued a woman who was being held at knifepoint and stabbed by her boyfriend after an argument.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, Warminster Township Police were called to Newtown Road for a report of a domestic fight involving a man with a knife. When they got there, they found that the man had dragged the woman into a bathroom and was holding her there against her will, police said.
When they heard the woman scream for help, officers went in and rescued the woman as the man was stabbing her. She was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for what police called a "significant" stab wound.

Officers spent several minutes trying to talk the man into surrendering. The Central Bucks County Special Response Team was called in and members negotiated with the man, eventually getting him out of the house.
He was taken to Doylestown Hospital for a mental evaluation and medical treatment, according to police.

During the day Friday, police notified residents of the area, as well as nearby schools, of the incident. Newtown Road was shut down and residents were asked to avoid the area around Fox Run Apartments.
"We tried to ensure that we kept this event localized with minimal impact, however out of abundance of caution we needed to take steps to ensure the community safety," police said in a news release.
Criminal charges are pending against the man, according to police.
