PECO Planning $15M Project In Warminster Area

PECO will be working in Ivyland, Warminster, and two other towns to bolster the local electric distribution system.

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — PECO will be working in Ivyland, Warminster, and two other nearby communities to bolster the local electric distribution system.

Warminster Township officials said the $15 million infrastructure project will provide upgrades to withstand more frequent and damaging storms, improve reliability by reducing the frequency of outages that cannot be prevented, and support cleaner energy resources such as solar and electric vehicles.

Work will also be conducted in Warwick and Northampton Township.

  • Replace all wires, cables, poles, devices, and transformers on the circuits associated with the Richboro Substation, which will be retired following this work.
  • Install advanced devices will be installed that can stop the flow of electricity if a problem occurs and automatically restore electricity where possible.

What residents should expect to see during the project:

  • Tree removals and tree trimming work will be required.
  • In Ivyland, work will occur along Jacksonville Road, Chase Avenue, Dubois Avenue, Eddowes Drive, Garrison Drive, Gough Avenue, Greely Avenue, Ivyland Road, Kirk Road, Lacey Avenue, Lincoln Ave, Pennsylvania Ave, Twining Ave, Wilson Ave, and Willard Ave.
  • In Warminster, work will occur along Ivyland Rd, Kirk Rd, Charter Rd, Woodbrook Ln, and Vista Dr.
  • All work will be performed by PECO crews and qualified PECO contractors.
  • PECO has developed a plan to minimize direct customer impact as much as possible and to complete the project in a safe and timely manner.
