WARMINSTER, PA — Officials in Warminster are asking for the public's help getting back signs that were stolen from a children's play area at Warminster Community Park.

Township officials say that, some time between 8 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Monday, all of the street signs in Safety Town, at the park, were stolen.

Safety Town is described as "a miniaturized version of Warminster Township where young children can ride tricycles and big wheels and play in a make-believe town." All of the storefronts and buildings are based on real ones in Warminster and street signs are shrunk to help teach kids the importance of street safety.

The township is asking anyone with information in the theft to contact Officer Murtha at DMurtha@warminsterpa.org.

"These signs were expensive, and we’d like to have them back as they were made specifically for our town," officials said in a social media post. "If you 'borrowed' them as a joke or dare, please return them to the Parks & Rec office or call us at 215-443-5428 and tell us where they might be found. No questions asked."
