Man Killed In Bucks Co. Wood Chipper Accident

Lower Southampton Police responded to a work site on Valley View Road on Monday afternoon.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A man was killed after being stuck in a wood chipper on Monday afternoon at a work site on Valley View Road, police said.

Police Chief Ted Krimmel said police, fire crews, and EMS responded to the unit block of Valley View Road for an industrial rescue.

Authorities found a man in his 60s who was stuck in a wood chipper. Police said he died from his injuries.

Action News 6 reported that the man was working outside when part of his body became caught in the machine.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Police did not release the name of the man.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time," the police chief said.

Police responded along with Lower Southampton and Penndel fire departments, the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad, and the Bucks County Coroner’s Office.

The police chief said any further information would be provided by the coroner's office.
