Centennial Superintendent Speaks Out About Replacement. What Did He Say?
Centennial Schools Superintendent Dana Bedden touted accomplishments. A new superintendent takes over in July.

WARMINSTER, PA — Centennial Schools Superintendent Dana T. Bedden said there will be a smooth transition as the school district moves to a new chapter, with his replacement now approved by the school board.
Abram Lucabaugh — who was let go in a severance agreement with the Central Bucks School District last year — had his contract approved by the Centennial School Board on Tuesday night. to lead the district when Bedden's contract is up at the end of June.
After his employment agreement was approved in a 5-4 vote by the Centennial School Board on Tuesday night, Lucabaugh agreed to a three-year contract, school officials said.

"I remain committed to ensuring as smooth a transition as possible and supporting the continued success of our district, our schools, and most importantly, our students," Bedden said.
Bedden said he is "immensely proud" of what was accomplished during his five-year tenure leading the school district, which covers Warminster and Upper Southampton townships.

"Our district has successfully navigated unprecedented challenges, including the pandemic, while consistently elevating academic achievement and expanding opportunities for all students," Bedden said.
Bedden said schools achieved successes that the superintendent said he witnessed firsthand during visits to schools and classrooms.
He cited the following measurable results:
- 100 percent of PVAAS growth measures now meet or exceed state performance targets
- PSSA Mathematics scores increased by 12.7 percent since 2021.
- A focus on fiscal responsibility resulted in a Moody's Aa2 bond rating, which saved taxpayers over $4 million through strategic refinancing.
"Our innovative partnerships with higher education institutions, the implementation of AI in our administrative, teaching, and learning processes, and the expansion of social-emotional learning programs have created meaningful pathways for student success," Bedden said. "I'm especially proud of our district's first board-approved Educational Equity Policy, which aims to ensure that all students, regardless of race (which is not the focus), have access to the resources they need to thrive. The national recognition of our high school and middle school, received this past year by US News and World Report and Niche, affirms the exceptional work of our teachers, staff, and administrators."
