Warminster Day Camp Org Is 'Best Of Philly' For Kids’ Classes
Skate The Foundry's one-on-one skateboarding lessons are the best classes for kids around, according to Philly Mag's 2021 awards.

WARMINSTER, PA — Skate The Foundry, the skateboarding organization that ran a day camp out of Warminster in early July, has been named the "Best Of Philly" in kids' classes for its one-on-one skateboarding lessons.
The skateboarding organization has been operating camps and classes in Philadelphia and the surrounding area for around five years.
"For $70, Skate the Foundry’s expert skateboarders will spend an hour one-on-one with your budding Lizzie Armanto or Tony Hawk at a variety of skate parks throughout the region," Philly Mag wrote. "For $80, they’ll even come to your driveway. Because the coolest kid on the block is always the one who knows how to ollie."

In a June interview with Patch, owner Brett Williams said that his company sees skateboarding as "a tool" to help kids grow in all kinds of ways.
"It's really about connecting people through skateboarding: getting to know one another [and] developing their 'skate crew' of friends that skateboard, that they can meet up with outside of the program," Brett said. "We're also really teaching self confidence, creativity, persistence — when you fall, getting right back up — and also comradery — cheering for each other when we fall."

Skateboarding is swiftly achieving more recognition and acclaim in the sporting world. It's a summer Olympic sport now, with Japanese skater Yuto Horigome winning skateboarding's first ever Olympic gold medal Sunday.
"Unfortunately, skateboarding wasn't that mainstream awhile ago," Yui Williams, who manages Skate The Foundry's administration and scheduling, said. "[Older skaters] didn't have an opportunity to learn tricks from someone else or have a chance to meet someone new because of joining a program, like a travel basketball team. Local skaters see [our program] in a very positive way most of the time."
