Warminster Family Shared 4th Of July Gift With Neighborhood
Tiny U.S. flags showed up in the yards of nearly 200 families on the holiday, thanks to this family of five.
WARMINSTER, PA — On the 4th of July, residents of a Warminster neighborhood got a patriotic surprise thanks to what's becoming one local family's annual tradition.
Residents of Gibson, Wallace, Fairfield, Sylvan, Kings Way, Iris and Claire streets woke up that Saturday with a single American flag planted near the sidewalk in their yards.
The nearly 200 flags, it turns out, were placed by the Brehm family — parents William and Christy and their three kids, who range in age from 18 months to 7 years.

"This is our second year in a row putting out flags," said William Brehm. "It's become a special family tradition, and a way that we can honor our country and love our neighbors."
The family strolled the neighborhood, with a red wagon and jogging stroller in tow, starting at about 4 p.m. on July 3.

They say one neighbor who saw daughter Harmony in action shouted, "What are you putting in my lawn?" But when he was it was a flag, they say, he followed up with, "You can put in as many as you want."
"I love doing it!" said 7-year-old Harmony, who walked about five miles in four hours with her dad. "It's such a great thing to do for other people. And it makes me feel good."
Her mom feels the same way.
"The gift is that we have the privilege to live in this great country," said Christy. "Our prayer is for unity and our hope is to encourage during these challenging times."
