WARMINSTER, PA — Warminster Food Bank is seeking to alleviate hunger for thousands of individuals and families in Bucks and Montgomery, is seeking dedicated volunteer van drivers to help collect vital food donations from area retailers.

The volunteer driver opportunity is perfect for community-minded individuals who want to make a meaningful impact through just an hour or two of service each week.

Drivers play a key role in retrieving food donations from stores, including Giant, ShopRite, Aldi, Target, and Walmart, ensuring a steady flow of supplies to the food bank’s shelves.

“This is a hands-on way to fight food insecurity right in our own neighborhoods,” said Brian Foedisch, director of operations for the Warminster Food Bank. “Every donation pickup directly supports local families in need. We simply can’t do it without our amazing volunteers.”

  • Driving the food bank’s 2024 Mercedes Sprinter Van (diesel, automatic).
  • Picking up donations from designated retailers and transporting them to the food bank.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading boxes (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Working independently or with a partner volunteer.

Requirements:

  • Valid PA driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be 25 years or older due to insurance guidelines.
  • No CDL required.
  • Volunteers must be comfortable lifting moderate weights and following a pickup schedule.

Flexible Scheduling:

  • Most pickups occur on weekday mornings between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
  • Occasional Saturday pickups may be requested.
  • Volunteers may choose to cover one store weekly or multiple stores, as their schedule allows.
