Water Rescue Training Undertaken By Warminster Firefighters
Warminster's two fire companies prepped for weather emergencies such as flash flooding as spring and summer near.

WARMINSTER, PA —When it pours in the township, County Line Road and other streets can experience some immediate flooding.
And while Warminster doesn't have any waterways like other Bucks County communities, the township's two fire companies want to be prepared no matter what.
Twelve personnel from the Warminster Fire Department, the Hartsville Fire Company, and the township's full-time firefighters went swimming for their annual refresher training for water rescues.

They took to the pool to sharpen their skills, completing a 100-yard swim, while working on water entries, cold water skills, throw bags, double line floating tether, and strainer exercises.
The students will complete their training with an in-water practical later in the spring as conditions improve.

"Water may not seem like a major threat in Warminster but pop-up storms and flash flooding have affected us and the region significantly so personnel need to have these skills mastered before engaging in shoreline-based rescues," fire officials said.
