Wegmans Shows Off 2nd Bucks Co. Supermarket
The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company learned about the supermarket's fire protection systems as Wegmans prepares to open next week.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —With the second Wegmans opening in Bucks County next week, the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company got a first-hand tour as it prepares for fire protection of the new supermarket.
YMFC members —along with some mutual aid companies —had the opportunity to walk through the new Wegmans store on Stony Hill Road at Prickett Preserve. The store is expected to open on March 20.
Members were able to see the layout of the 88,000-square-foot supermarket, become familiar with its fire protection systems, and meet management.

While Bucks County boasts a Wegmans in Warrington Township, this second store will serve as a retail crown jewel for Lower Bucks County, one of 17 Wegmans in the Pennsylvania/Delaware region and among 110 stores overall, company officials said.
The store will employ 415 people, 155 of which will be full-time workers and 260 part-timers.
Patch was the first media in the Philadelphia region to get a sneak peek at a tour of the new building in November.
Wegmans has also been contributing to the Lower Bucks community, having donated more than $32,000.
