York Road To Close For 5K Run This Weekend

The road will be closed for the Brad Fox Day 5K run and 1K walk on Saturday. Read below for all details on road closures and detours.

WARMINSTER, PA — York Road will be closed for a 5k run on Saturday.

Beginning at 8:45 a.m., the Route 263 road will be closed from Street Road (Rt. 132) to West Bristol Road while the Brad Fox 5K Run is taking place.

No traffic will be permitted on these roads during the race.

The Township of Warminster's official website posted a list of alternative routes for drivers:

1. North York Rd, at Street Rd.

  • East on Street Rd. to Mearns Rd. (SR2077) north to Bristol Rd west to York Rd

2. South York Rd, at Bristol Rd.

  • East on Bristol Rd. to Mearns Rd. (SR2077) north to Street Rd. west to York Rd.

The race, which consists of a 5K run and a 1K walk, is organized by the Brad Fox Foundation. Fox was a Warminster native and USMC Veteran who served two tours in Iraq. A member of the Plymouth Township Police Department, he was killed in the line of duty in September of 2012.

The event will begin at Archbishop Wood High School, located at 655 York Rd. Details on times and registration can be found on the foundation's website.
