• UPMC rural residency program trains doctors in Wellsboro to bolster rural doctor workforce (wvia.org) — New doctors are training at UPMC Wellsboro through a new rural residency program designed to strengthen healthcare in Tioga County and other underserved areas. With only two residents accepted per year, the program covers housing, immerses physicians in the Wellsboro community, and aims to keep more than half of its graduates practicing in northcentral Pennsylvania’s rural hospitals.
