100 Early Voters At West Chester Community Center
Chris Greene, a Democratic committeeman, said the turnout in at the Chrarles E. Melton Arts & Education Center is higher than ever.
WEST CHESTER, PA —Voters turned out in droves early Tuesday morning at a neighborhood community center in downtown West Chester.
“We already have over 100 voters,” Chris Greene, a volunteer at the Charles E. Melton Arts and Education Center, 501 E. Minor St. “We have a much higher turnout than normal. We had 60 voter turnouts in the first two hours. We never had anything like that before.”
A steady stream of voters casted their ballots throughout the morning.

Greene said typically there would only be 30 voters at the polls by late morning. Greene said the community center serves as the pillar of the community, providing residents with sports, arts and other programs, including summer camp ativities.
Several poll workers, all Democrats, greeted the voters as they showed up. Republican greeters were not present on Tuesday morning.

Will Cortes, 16, a student at Henderson High School, said he was helping out with the campaign for Chris Pielli, Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania representative for District 156.
Pielli is running against Republican candidate Heidi Vanderwall. The district covers West Chester, East Bradford, East Goshen and West Goshen townships.
“I became very interested in politics,” Cortes said. “I enjoy working on campaigns. I volunteered to be a greeter.”
The polls close at 8 p.m. Chester County voter services has already begun the counting. The results could take several days to complete.
