Backpacks Brighten School Start For West Chester Area Students

Thanks to the Mom's Club of West Chester, students in need are off to a great start.

WEST CHESTER, PA —The beginning of the school year has been off to a great start as the West Chester Area School District received a generous donation of school supplies from the Mom’s Club of West Chester

The Mom’s Club, an international non-profit offering support to moms within the West Chester area, donated the over 150 items to the district to benefit students in need of school supplies for the 2022-23 school year.

The supplies included backpacks, water bottles, headphones, notebooks, and various folders.

“We have received many calls this year from families needing extra support in order to provide their children with school supplies,” said Tricia Alston, West Chester Area School District social worker coordinator.

“We are so thankful that we have such generous partners that assist us in supporting our students and families so that all students can start off the year with the basic resources they need to be successful in the classroom.”

District caseworkers divided the supplies and distributed them to economically disadvantaged students in the district’s 17 schools.
