5,795 PECO Customers In Chesco Are Still In The Dark: 8:30 UPDATE
A funnel cloud was seen by first responders between Downingtown and Coatesville. A tornado has not yet been confirmed.
CHESTER COUNTY, PA —Thousands of residents and businesses in Chester County are still without power Tuesday afternoon in the wake of severe storms passing through, creating tornado watches and weather alerts.
As of 8:30 p.m., a total of 5,794 customers were still without power, amounting to 48 percent of the total outages this morning.
Patty Mains, Chester County Public Information officer reports that a funnel cloud was seen by first responders between Coatesville and Downingtown. The tornado has not yet been confirmed.

PECO crews were out restoring electricity while municipal and PennDOT crews were removing fallen trees and debris from roadways throughout the county.
The eastern portion of Chester County, which includes Tredyffrin, Easttown, West Chester, Malvern, and Phoenixville had few outages.

The bulk of the outages are in Coatesville, East Bradford., East Fallowfield, East Marlborough, East Nottingham, Kennett, Kennett Square, London Britain, Londonderry, Lower Oxford, New Garden, New London, North Coventry, Penn, Pennsbury, Popcopson, Upper Oxford, West Bradford, West Marlborough, West Pikeland and West Nottingham townships.
